Trapline privacy policy
Last updated 12 September 2026
Trapline is built to know as little about you as possible. There is no sign-up, no advertising and no tracking.
What stays on your device
Your progress — bolts, cores, research, settings, the course you are building — is saved on your phone. Deleting the app deletes it.
What our server keeps
When the game is online it talks to our server at trapline.theronix.app. The server keeps:
- a random player id and a generated handle such as @swift-otter-42 — not your name, email or phone number;
- the courses you publish (their layout, name from a fixed list, music and laugh);
- which courses you have run and cleared, your best flip count, the courses you like and report;
- your score on the daily course.
Other players see your handle next to your courses and daily scores. That is all they see.
Like any website, the server sees your IP address when your phone connects. It is used only to stop abuse (limits on how fast one address can publish or create players) and is not stored with your player data.
What we never collect
No name, email, contacts, location, photos, advertising identifier or device fingerprint. We do not sell or share data, and there are no third-party analytics or ad services in the app.
Purchases
In-app purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Children
Trapline is rated 9+. Because it collects no personal information, it asks for none from anyone.
Deleting your data
Email info@monah.me with your handle (Settings in the game) and we will delete your player and everything linked to it.
